Functional Hallux Limitus

Functional hallux limitus is a common problem with the first metatarsophalangeal joint in which the hallux does not want to dorsiflex when it is on the ground. There is a normal range of motion when it is not weightbearing. The treatment of functional hallux limitus is to encourage the plantarflexion of the first ray.
