Magnetic Resonance Imaging Basics

Magnetic resonance imaging uses a powerful magnetic field to change the magnetization of some atomic nuclei and radio frequency fields to systematically alter the alignment of this magnetization. This is then recorded to give a detailed image of internal structures.
